About Me

My love for creating is a life long journey which I started as a child and have always found to be the most rewarding way to express myself. I was a make up artist for over fifteen years but it never felt enough so when I became a mother in 2009 my family life and commitments changed my priorities and I gave up a sucessfull make up career to stay at home and bring up my children. I continued to create through painting and regular life drawing classes, often turning to my children and the objects around me as subjects. Flowers gradually became a natural focus, allowing me to combine my love of colour with a way to stay connected to nature and to explore the fragile yet powerful energy of life.

My work is now explores the space between reality and invention and my children are older so I am able to dedicate more time to my painting. I returned to study fine art as a mature student and graduated with a first-class Bachalor’s of Arts’ degree.  I am now also a member of the Society of Women Artists and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers.  This all helps me remain connected to a wider artistic community that continues to inspire and challenge my work.

For me my painting is a celebration of joy and beauty and the quiet wonder of being alive. I find it a great source of respite.

I want my paintings to bring warmth and happiness into the space. ultimately my aim is to create paintings that are not only visually engaging but emotionally . works that elaborate creation itself and leave a room feeling more alive and more hopeful and filled with joy.
