My art has always been far more than simply making a painting. It is a place that brings me joy and hope. I have always found it easier to express myself creatively than with words and through painting I want to express a celebration of joy and abundance. I was a make up artist for over fifteen years and became a mother in 2009 where my family life and commitments changed. I gave up a successful career to stay at home and bring up my children. This is where I found my love for Painting. Flowers gradually became a natural focus, allowing me to combine my love of colour nature and a way to explore the fragile, powerful energy of life.
My work now explores the space between reality and invention and my children are older so I am able to dedicate more time to my painting. I returned to study fine art as a mature student and graduated with a first-class Honours degree. I am a member of The Society of Women Artists, a freeman of The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers. This all helps me remain connected to a wider artistic community that continues to inspire and challenge me.
I want my paintings to bring warmth joy and abundance into a space. Ultimately my aim is to create paintings that are not only visually engaging but emotionally uplifting . Celebrating painting and hopefully leaving a room feeling more alive and more hopeful with joy and love.
